The Education Policy Research Center at the University of Florida is offering an online school safety data training that employs the new version of the Safe Schools for Alex School Safety Dashboard to help all stakeholders make research-driven safety planning decisions for their schools. School safety is a multifaceted endeavor that enmeshes all areas of school operations, involves all stakeholders, and draws from a variety of student and community services. This self-paced course is open to all school stakeholders at no cost and is expected to take approximately 8 hours to complete.
Inservice Points
School districts are encouraged to include this no cost, distance-learning opportunity in their Inservice program offerings for certificated employees. Content is aligned with Florida Educational Leadership Standards.
Micro Credentialing
Upon successful compleption of the course, participants will have earned a micro credential badge from the UF Education Policy Research Center.
Course Content
This asynchronous course includes 5 content modules and provides PreK-12 school stakeholders with information on school safety efforts and instruction on using the Safe Schools for Alex School Safety Data Dashboard and website.
Course content also includes instruction on how to apply this information to educational policy and practice that promotes school safety.
